Most transformations inherit their ledger from a vendor template, a PMO standard, or an earlier programme. Inherited ledgers carry inherited blind spots. The Ledger Workshop is the day on which an executive team designs its own.
We work through three questions over the course of the day. What, precisely, are we trying to change? What is currently working that must be protected? And what will we refuse to trade away when the timeline slips? The output is a one-page ledger the executive team can point to when the pressure comes — and the pressure always comes.
